Instead of running FROM something, get ready to run FOR something and join DRiNKLiNK at the Edinburgh Marathon 2017. Fast & flat, this course was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, ideal if it’s your first marathon or your looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Marathon has sold out every year since 2008 and is the second largest marathon in the UK, behind only London. If you don’t fancy the Marathon but still want a challenge we have other options available:

Trek Ben Nevis

At 1344 meters above sea level, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK.
Take on this challenge and stand proud over some of the most breathtaking scenery that Scotland has to offer. The 9 miles ascent is not undertaken lightly but with the right preparation you’ll be conquering this mighty peak before you know it!

Is this trip for me?
YES! People of all ages and from all walks of life take part in the Ben Nevis Challenge – what everyone has in common is a desire to do something amazing for charity.
How fit do I need to be?
Supporters don’t need to be fitness fanatics to complete the challenge but a certain degree of training is vital to ensure maximum enjoyment. Training guides will be sent out to all participants booked onto the trek.
What do I need to bring?
A full checklist will be sent to you once you’re booked on – vitals include waterproofs, headtorches, warm clothes and water carriers.
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship?
YES! We will send out ‘how to’s’ to you to raise funds in an enjoyable way. Remember you are doing something truly amazing for your charity and will soon be racing towards your target! London to Paris Cycle

Itinerary
DAY 1:
An early start from SE London allows us to avoid the morning traffic. Our route takes us SE away from the main routes towards Tonbridge and on through the Kent countryside to Dover where we catch the ferry to Calais.
(Distance: Approx 95 miles)
DAY 2:
After breakfast we head south through beautiful French countryside.
Our route will take us along small quiet roads through villages and small towns. Night in Abbeville.
(Distance: Approx 75 miles)
DAY 3:
This morning after a couple of tough days in the saddle our legs may feel a little tired. Today we continue south through villages and along quiet French roads to the more forested region around Compiegne, where we spend the night.
(Distance: Approx 70 miles)
DAY 4:
Our final day’s cycling takes us SW initially through small villages and woodland before we meet the outskirts of Paris. We cycle though the Parisian streets around the Arc de Triumph to our finish beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower.
Celebration meal.

DAY 5:
Free day in Paris Eurostar home to London So what are you waiting for – book your place today!!

Get involved with DRiNKLiNK’s 5000 steps a day pedometer event, Even the smallest level of physical activity is beneficial for your body and mind.
DRiNKLiNK has come up with a fantastic challenge for everyone to get involved with. Monitoring your steps has taken the fitness world by storm. For those who have already been bitten by the fitness monitoring bug it’s a great excuse to rack up more steps and for those who fancy a new challenge they are guaranteed a great experience.
Set your challenge based on your fitness levels, using the recommended daily steps of 10,000 as a base. Whether 1,000, 2,000 or 30,000 is your aim, keep in mind your fitness level and push yourself to your limits to reach your fundraising goal. If you’re active keep it up, it may even be time to push yourself a little harder, try aiming for more steps. Don’t worry if you’ve never exercised or if you’ve stopped exercising for some reason. Let us help you get moving!
Most importantly, this is all in the name of charity and raising funds for those who need it most.
